March 2010

Hi All

Our blog is up and running and so is our facebook site. I
must mention that when I set up the facebook site, in error, I set up a profile called Eurobike Cape Town - all in small letters. I then realised my mistake and set up a business site with EUROBIKE CAPE TOWN all in capitals. This is where you need to go. Once you get into facebook and if you are taken to the first Eurobike Cape Town then just type EUROBIKE in capitals and it will show you the place to go. We have the front of the shop under the profile picture. If anyone knows how to delete the first one without deleting the correct site, please let me know (I have emailed facebook but they have never come back to me). Please visit www.eurobike.co.za and read all our news.

We now have a selection of Shark helmets in stock as well as some cheaper open-faced helmets as well. We will be receiving a shipment of Alpine Stars clothing as well.

We have Leatt braces in stock. This is definitely something to consider adding to your riding kit. The entry level Adventure model retails for R2550 incl. vat.

We have an extensive range of gloves in stock - both summer and winter gloves.

We have a full range of bike covers. The bike covers we are stocking are all locally made and they will definitely fit your bike. The x-large cover was modelled on the Caponord. They will not blow off and have been made for Cape Town winters.

Sheridan Morias came to visit us last week - 12th March - and spent quite a bit of time with us. He was in Cape Town for the National Racing. It was nice to meet him and he gave lots of his time to those who wanted to ask him about the RSV4. Thankyou to those of you who attended.

Steven Matthews (races RXV450), Sheridan Morias (races RSV4 Factory) and Killian Henrick (races SXV550)

Our walls are looking wonderful and to all of you who have bought in pictures of yourselves - thankyou. There is still lots of space if you want to bring in more.

We are in the process of moving all the magazines into bookcases we have had made for the shop. If anyone has a couch or an easy chair they would like a home for, then please let us know as we would like to establish a reading corner.

RACING:

Our boys gave really been doing well!!

Steven Matthews has been flying the flag very high for Aprilia and has been getting some phenomenal results on his RXV450. He has even been featured in the Enduro World Magazine and at his race at Zone 7 he came 1st place. Read all his results and write-ups on our blog.

Our son Killian did really well at the last Motard races at Killarney and finished 3rd in his class in the Tar section and 3rd in his class in the Tar/Gravel section. The photos on facebook say it all!

Please come and support our guys racing. The Motard racing is really fun as no matter where you sit on the circuit, you will be able to see the whole race. It's very primitive on that side of Killarney, so bring your cooler box, umbrella and come join in the fun. The races are 10 laps long and they usually do 6 races a day. There are also cars, supersingles, CBR150's all racing on the same day. It costs R40 to come watch the racing on the half-main at Killarney. The next race for the Motards is on the 24th April and it's a National - see you there!

Sheridan Morias notched up a 1st and 2nd place in the opening rounds of the Nationals and in his second race of the season he came 3rd.

APRILIA IN MOTION:

The first weekend away for the chaps in the Transvaal was a huge success and Andre has mentioned that they definitely will be having another soon. 21 Aprilia lovers attended and they had 14 Aprilia's on the ride. I have included a picture of the line up of the bikes - a sight for sore eyes!

BIKES FOR SALE:

RSV Factory - 2009 Model, very low kms (it has only had its first service) - Chris @ 0829687203

Mana - 2009 Model, 200kms on the clock: JC van Dyk @ 021 950 1600.

Both of these bikes are in an immaculate condition and both chaps need to sell them urgently. If you are interested, please call them directly.

COFFEE MORNINGS:

Just a reminder that Saturday mornings are coffee mornings. The workshop is closed. Stretch is usually on hand to answer your technical problems. If it's Motard racing then he is at the track.

Please note that on Saturday 3 April 2010 we will be closed.

COMPETITION:

We will be offering 1 ticket to go and watch the National Motard Racing at Killarney on 24 April 2010:

Question: In what year did Aprilia manufacture their first motorcycle?

Please email you answer to me at jackie@eurobike.co.za
Please put "Aprilia Competition" in the subject line.

Competition closes on 9 April 2010 @ 16h00.

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter and a safe ride over this period.

Stretch and Jackie.
